North Spokane Library Hosts Preschool Play & Learn
The session for ages 3-5 combines storytime with hands-on math, science, art and literacy activities.

The program begins with a half hour of picture books, songs and fingerplay. A second 30-minute block gives preschoolers time to work with age-appropriate ideas in literacy, art, science and math through play.
Parents and caregivers participate alongside their children. The activities introduce social development, early reading and STEAM skills—science, technology, engineering, art and math—that support preparation for kindergarten. Families can also repeat the types of learning explored during storytime at home. Children may get their own library card as well.
Additional Tuesday sessions are scheduled for November 17 and 24; December 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2026. Library space is limited, so parties with at least 10 people need to call before attending. Spokane County Library District aims to welcome attendees of every ability. For hearing assistance, ASL or another accommodation at an in-person library event, requests must be made no fewer than five business days beforehand by emailing comments@scld.org or calling 509.893.8200.
