Deer Park library hosts toddler storytime and play

The program starts Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at 10:30 AM for children ages 18-36 months.

Toddlers get 20 minutes with picture books, songs, and fingerplay before moving into a 30-minute activity period. The second part introduces young children to ideas from math, science, and literacy through play. Parents and caregivers participate with their children, making the gathering a shared learning experience rather than a drop-off program.

The activities also build social abilities and early literacy skills that children will use in kindergarten. STEAM learning is included, spanning science and technology along with engineering, art, and math. Families can carry these kinds of activities into playtime at home. The event information also encourages caregivers to obtain a library card for their child.

Additional sessions are listed for November 17 and 24; December 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, all in 2026. Library space is limited, and groups with at least 10 people should call before arriving. Accommodation requests, including ASL or hearing assistance, should be submitted at least five business days beforehand. Requests may be sent to comments@scld.org or made by calling 509.893.8200.
