Family Play & Learn Storytime is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2026, in the meeting room at North Spokane. The program is designed for children ages 2-5 and the adults who attend with them.

The hour is divided between shared storytime and guided exploration. The first half uses picture books, music and fingerplays; the second offers child-friendly activities connected to math, science, art and literacy. Parents and caregivers participate with their children, with lessons that support kindergarten preparation and can continue at home. The session also brings in social skills and broader STEAM learning.

Families may also use the visit as an opportunity to obtain a library card for a child. Because seating and room capacity are limited, groups of 10 or more should contact the library before attending. Spokane County Library District says its in-person events are intended to welcome people of all abilities; accommodation requests should be made at least five business days ahead by emailing comments@scld.org or calling 509.893.8200.
