River Park Square Hosts Holiday Tree Art Fundraiser
Artists will create nonprofit-themed trees during First Friday on December 4.

Brushes and Boughs begins at River Park Square at 5:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2026. The First Friday event brings local artists together with Spokane-area nonprofits, with each artist painting a holiday tree inspired by a participating organization. Visitors can watch the work take shape and meet the nonprofits involved.
Starting December 5, the completed collection will include 12 hand-painted trees. They will be exhibited in River Park Square’s Kress Gallery and second-floor display. Each design will highlight the mission of the nonprofit paired with its artist, giving holiday shoppers and other downtown visitors a look at local organizations through original artwork.
Visitors may vote for a favorite tree by using the QR code shown beside each display. Balloting remains open through December 31. The nonprofit represented by the tree with the highest vote total will receive a $500 donation. Innovia and the Downtown Spokane Partnership are presenting the event, which combines a downtown seasonal activity with direct support for one participating nonprofit.
