Medical Lake Library Hosts Family Play & Learn Storytime
The November 18 session combines picture books, songs and hands-on activities for children ages 2-5 and their families.

Medical Lake families can spend an hour learning through play at the library’s Meeting Room on November 18, 2026, beginning at 10:30 AM. The program is designed for children ages 2-5 and the adults who care for them.
The first half uses picture books, music and fingerplays to build early reading skills. Children then move into activities involving math, science, art and literacy. Parents and caregivers take part with their children, making the session a shared experience rather than a drop-off activity.
The program also introduces literacy, STEAM and social skills connected to kindergarten readiness, with ideas families can continue at home. Families may also get a library card for their child. Because seating is limited, groups of 10 or more should call ahead. Spokane County Library District says its in-person events are intended to welcome people of all abilities; accommodation requests should be made at least five business days ahead by emailing comments@scld.org or calling 509.893.8200.
